The Rhône Valley is an area of distinct terroir-driven wines, created by generations of winemakers in some of the most intense viticultural conditions in the world. Home to the grapes of Syrah, Mouvedre, Grenache, Viognier and more, the wines of the Rhône reflect the extreme conditions of the area. In this 2 part retrospective series I will dive deep into the Rhône Valley to discover what makes these wines so special.

In Part 1, I will cover the northern appellations of Condrieu, St Joseph, Cornas, Croze-Hermitage, Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the climate and soils, while tasting the wines of Vincent Paris, Faury and Rene Rostang, among many others.

This class will be held at Perch Coffee House on 440 Grand Avenue. Metered street parking is available (meters shut off at 6PM) and there is some residential parking in the area. Please leave a little time to find a spot. Doors open at 5:30PM, so feel free to come in and ask for Paul.
